Every time I think I've seen all of Maloney's old posts, something new pops up. For the record, I quite intentionally did not go to his house. In fact, as I said in a post the very night I distributed my publication, I skipped two homes in his neighborhood because the lighting was poor and I couldn't tell which house was his. To err on the side of caution, I didn't go to either. Thus, if anyone stuff anything in his screen, it was not me.

I want to know what it means to put 'society before economy'. The reason we live in such luxury is because our economy is strong. Many Australian use the worlds poorer economies as cheap holiday destinations. Bad economy = poor society and we should be glad our tourism industry is struggling, it's a sign that our economy and as a result our society are doing quite well in the world.

Society and economy are so closely linked I don't know if one can be treated as more important than the other.

Hey,

Really interesting view point, the actual story is just a miscommunication and some terrible copy checking on my part. Luckily after 12 years of running social campaigns I am not naive enough to think this would be the first, time travel as someone pointed out yesterday would be good, but still impossible :)

However, I have only been in Sydney for the 7 weeks, and I have to agree with everything you have said. My first impression was that Sydney and Australia as a whole from a twitter point of view just hasn't reach the tipping point yet. I couldn't find much information if any on meetups, tweetups or even people just chatting across twitter, was kind of frustrating.

I still hold that opinion now, but what has been revealed through this #fail is that there is a real underground of people who are just like me, and to be honest the whole thing has been a lot of fun. I am the first to be a sarcastic dick when people do stupid stuff, and this was in hindsight totally avoidable, however, in hindsight, i wish i had done it on purpose as an experiment, because I have met some great people with some great views and had some laughs along the way. Man that would have been cool.

Anyway, come down if you can, there is a beer on me waiting for you.

Cheers
